A Portfolio of Success
USACE MOTCO Building 606 Inland Substation Upgrade – Concord, CA
Under the direction of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Building 606 Inland Substation project at Military Ocean Terminal Concord (MOTCO) involved critical electrical infrastructure upgrades to enhance power reliability and operational resilience. The scope of work included the removal and replacement of the existing transformer and switchgear, replacement of overhead transmission lines, installation of new security fencing, and various minor site improvements.
These upgrades support mission-critical operations at MOTCO and were integrated with existing systems to ensure minimal disruption and long-term performance across the installation’s electrical grid.
Lock No. 27 Embedded Metals Repairs – Granite City, IL
This project involved critical structural repairs to embedded metals at Lock No. 27 on the Mississippi River near Granite City, Illinois. Work was performed to restore the integrity and functionality of key lock components subjected to years of wear and riverine conditions.
The scope included removal and replacement of corroded or damaged embedded steel components, surface preparation, precision welding, and re-anchoring of structural elements. All activities were executed in coordination with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers requirements, ensuring minimal disruption to navigation operations and full compliance with USACE safety and environmental standards.
Burnett Reservoir Water Pretreatment Project – Asheville, NC
Following the severe impacts of Hurricane Helene in late 2024, the Burnett Reservoir. Asheville’s primary drinking water source underwent a critical pretreatment upgrade to restore and protect water quality. The project involved the implementation of a $40 million turbidity reduction system to address excessive sediment and debris caused by more than 30 inches of rainfall, flooding, and landslides.
A key component of the project was the installation of dissolved air flotation (DAF) technology, which uses pressurized air to bind fine particles to microbubbles, allowing them to rise and be removed before entering the North Fork Water Treatment Plant. This pretreatment process significantly improved water clarity and expanded the plant’s capacity to deliver up to 25 million gallons of safe drinking water per day.
Demolition and Clean Up of Former B of A Building - Lake Isabella, CA
As part of the Isabella Dam Safety Modification Project, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District directed the demolition of the former Bank of America building located at 6212 Lake Isabella Boulevard. This effort cleared the site to make way for the construction of a new U.S. Forest Service visitor center, supporting long-term public access and engagement while enhancing infrastructure safety and resilience in the region.
